Up for sale here is this rebuild kit for a Marantz 2238B (not the 2238). This includes all the parts you need to rebuild the Marantz 2238B P700 power supply/amplifier board, P400 phono EQ board, PE01 preamp board, and tuner board, plus it includes upgraded replacement main capacitors and a new relay. This does not include new lights, fuses, or output transistors. The correct replacement output transistors are two MJ21195G (replaces 2SB541) and two MJ21196G (replaces 2SD388), available here. Please do not buy any of the fake Chinese output transistors listed on eBay--these are counterfeit and may damage your receiver. The 2238B is a challenge to work on, to put it mildly. Accessing the boards is difficult, so if you have not worked on vintage gear before, this is NOT one to start with. This kit includes the following: P700 Power Supply/Amplifier Board: 20 capacitors8 diodes (to pair up to replace the MV-13s)2 double diodes 10 transistors1 Relay P400 Phono EQ Board:10 capacitors6 transistors PE01 Preamp Board:11 capacitors8 transistors Tuner board: 27 capacitors2 transistors 2 new main capacitors (same diameter as the old caps so they will fit the clamps, slightly upgraded uf ratings)Instructions The kit for each board is bagged individually to make things easier. These are all high-quality brand new genuine parts. The main capacitors are United Chemi-Con 10000 uf 63v capacitors, the other capacitors are 105° Panasonic FC, Nichicon PW, Nichicon KL, and Wima film caps at the same uf ratings and the same or higher voltage ratings, the transistors and diodes are the correct Fairchild/Onsemi subs for the original transistors, and the relay is a new Omron relay. These are the same parts I use when I rebuild Marantz equipment. I will include surprisingly well-written instructions, but rebuilding a receiver is moderately complicated, and you should know what you're doing and have a decent soldering iron, heat-sink compound, and a dim-bulb tester with a 60W or 100W incandescent bulb.
