Recap Kit for Acoustic Research AR-2A AR-2AX Speakers MPT Film Capacitors
Up for sale here is this recap kit for a pair of Acoustic Research AR-2A or AR-2AX speakers. This will let you completely recap two (2) AR-2A or AR-2AX speakers. These are brand new Supertech MPT (metallized polypropylene film) capacitors, which are super-high-quality and will sound nice and clear. There are two 6 uf capacitors and two 4 uf capacitors. The old caps are pretty bad by this point, but these new film caps will get your speakers singing again! These are fairly easy to install as long as you know what you’re doing. You will need a decent soldering iron, solder, a Philips screwdriver, wire cutters, and a hot glue gun or rubber cement to aid in mounting the caps. Please see my pictures for details. New Replacement Kit for 40 + 40 + 20 + 20 uf 450v Quad Can Capacitor
Up for sale here is this kit to allow you to replace a 40 uf/40 uf/20 uf/20 uf 450v quad (4-section) can capacitor. You will receive two (2) new 40 uf 450v Supertech radial capacitors, two (2) 22 uf 450v Supertech radial capacitors, and one (1) 5-lug terminal strip. You can mount the terminal strip under the chassis, attach the capacitors to it, and then attach the various wires and resistors from your equipment, giving you the equivalent of the original can capacitor, without worrying about gutting it or searching around for new old stock cans. This isn’t that hard to install, but you should know what you’re doing and have a decent soldering iron. Please see my pictures for details.
