It was at lease thirty years ago or more. They are all in what I would consider to be excellent condition. The Bakelite itself retains most of its original sheen and the white painted stripes still remains bold.

Up for sale here is this brand new knob. This is a beautiful brushed-aluminum knob cover and looks amazing. It is black except the rim is silver. This will fit the Sansui TU-5900, TU-7900, AU-2900, AU-3900, AU-4900, AU-5900, AU-6900, AU-7900, and AU-8900. It will also fit the Sansui lever knobs on the 8080, 9090, and 9090DB, though those are originally silver. The 8080 uses two of these for the Loudness and Mode toggles, the 9090 uses four for the Loudness, Mode, and Bass/Treble tone defeat levers, and the 9090DB uses two for the Bass/Treble tone defeat levers. These are almost identical to the old lever knobs, but they are a little shinier. I would probably just replace all of them if you want them to match. These measure 16mm long and 7.9mm in diameter. The old lever knobs measure 15.3mm long and 8mm in diameter, so these are almost identical. These will fit the pushbuttons as well, but they are not as wide as the old ones. These have a 3.3mm square hole, so it’s about 4.3mm diagonally. These have square holes, but they will fit the lever shaft perfectly if you line up the shaft diagonally in the knob hole. This is for the lever knobs, NOT the pushbuttons. It is not the same size as the pushbuttons. US shipping and handling is $5, and international is $18, no matter what quantity you buy.
