I present to your attention the wonderful Pioneer CS-550 speakers.This is that rare option when you can get great sound for reasonable money.No matter how good a 50-year-old item may look, in any case it requires restoration, both cosmetic and technical.If the seller proudly says that the thing has not been dug and no one has climbed into it, this means only one thing – the need to carry out maintenance and this process is quite expensive. More expensive than the cost of the speakers themselves.When I received these speakers, just like others that are 50 years old, I got the expected result in sound. MEDIOCIDATE! The reason is the presence of dried electrolytic capacitors in the isolation filters. If you buy these speakers without rebuilding the crossovers, be prepared for disappointment in the sound and further service, which will definitely have to be done.What I did (did myself) was simply necessary.When opening the speakers, I discovered dead electrolytic capacitors in the crossover filters.So:GREAT WORK DONE1. Repair of Crossovers, replacement of electrolytic (dead capacitors) in crossovers.2. Threw away the glass wool and filled it with acoustic padding polyester.3. Grills are made removable4. Replacement of acoustic connectors with modern ones.5. All speakers have been tested and serviced.The speakers are almost perfect in appearance.Technically in new condition and even better due to preventative maintenance.

Tested and both speakers sound great! This is for the pair pictured. Both are in excellent used condition with very minor blemishes. All the drivers and woofers are very nice. Each grill has one little plastic piece missing that goes on the curved parts of the wood.
