Years produced: early 1980s, successor to the GX-635D in Akai’s GX lineup. Heads: 6 total — 2 × GX record, 2 × GX playback, 2 × erase. Remote: compatible with Akai RC-19. There are light surface scratches, most notably one longer scratch across the upper-center of the faceplate, visible under certain lighting conditions but not visible once a pair of 10.5″ reels is mounted.
