Given a complete 20-point check-up and passed with flying colors ready for action! From my Crown/Amcron Collection: Selling one of two available completely refurbished and fully serviced extremely rare, highly desirable and in very short supply, the Crown/Amcron D-75 amplifier. (images 8-to-12, $1099) Irrespective of its warm and full bodied sonic attributes, hands down the D-75 is perhaps one of the sleek looking specimen amongst the hi-fi’s chosen few in all shape & form ever rolled out of the assembly line back in the day. Unequivocally breathtaking! You’ll be hard pressed not to own an almost unattainable, most coveted highly desirable Crown legacy to date. The D-75 model definitely is a pure gem find remnant from the time when the universe was once revolved around analog domain and the ubiquitous “ones and zeros” of its day were simply kindergarten material in audio world. Prior to posting, This timeless neo-classic design D-75 showcased here was literally just sitting on the shelf display inactive, virtually new and unused almost suspended in a time capsule since the Reagan administration. Up until recently it has gone through a barrage of tests and endless hours of complete general check up which included but not limited to, buffed, detailed clean every crevice and every line, deoxit, lubricate all pertinent moving mechanical parts to ensure proper contact with some, rewiring and retouchings involved in the refurbishing process. Bench tested and given a good bill of health! all buttons, controls and settings orderly function without a hint of flaw ready to put back into service once again by a deserving future owner, audiophiles, niche analog enthusiasts and purveyors of all things unique. It may take you another generation seeking to acquire a Crown’s finest in this state of condition. The opportunity presents itself to just own it..buy it simply for style, nostalgia or for posterity, but don’t deny yourself from acquiring this Vintage Transistorized piece of history that its relevance continues to persist almost in full circle today. Conversely, It is an investment that is worth the “Wait” in gold! 3. For your consideration: A working Crown/Amcon D-60 with a slight “humming” noise inside the chasis. (photos 13-to-23, $699) However, the audio signal is clean. Given a thorough check-up including but not limited to: de-oxit, detailed-clean, replaced neon lamp for the power pilot light.
